Lourdes story is one of the extreme exemples of human apathy that we are surrounded by in Turkey.
Lourdes is barely 3 months old,she is an extremely sweet soul trying to survive in the crowded city that is Istanbul.
and with great pain…
What brought Lourdes to the clinic was a horrible injury on one of her hind legs,her muscles , her joints and her arteries were open there to be seen with bare eyes.Her leg was completely necrotic, almost falling from her hips.
There are no words we can describe the smell that came from her injured leg, her injury is not new,she survived in this condition for at least 20 days , hiding in the dark corners , leaving the safety of cars shadows only at night to feed her-self despite her incredible pain.
It took someone so long to see and actually do something about her situation that her flesh was eaten alive by maggots. One could see them move to the deepest parts of her flesh to feed on her fading body.
Lourdes is a wonderful soul,feeling the care she was subject to she purred during the initial care given to the horrific injury as if she was thanking us .
Lourdes is now at our clinic. She will have to be operated on her leg , an operation that will remove most of it in order to save her life.
We could not turn our back to a soul in much need.Lourdes life is in our hands.Please help us save Lourdes.

This is aweful. The poor little thing. I am so glad someone found her and is helping. I wanted to give something,but can’t understand the turkish language. Is there another way to do it besides chip in?
I was stuck, too, until I realized it was saying I had to use a comma in the dollar amount. Ex. 25,00 Then it went through just fine.

I´m from Mexico….i think thats very sad….historys like that happened all the time in all the world!!!!! maybe for the planet could be better that the human race doesn´t exist more :S
I am sicker than sick. Thank GOD she was seen, carried and taken to a vet. Thank goodness eyes are peeled to her condition. She is, I am sure on pain medication. Oh’ sweetheart, life will get better. You have many angels keeping you safe.

Lourdes operation was a total success and we thank each of you who networked for Lourdes!
She was more than happy to find a small fluffy yellow couch at her service at the clinic and still under the influence of the big operation she went through curled up and fell asleep after a mini grooming session !!

Lourdes will be staying at the clinic 1 month to recover and boost her immune system.
After that time she will continue her life as a tripod.
As usual, after the complete recovery Lourdes will be up for adoption.
