What you are about to read will come as a huge shock and disappointment in medical field to most of you.

The place : invariably Turkey,one of the most beautifulvacation places one can witness in the whole world : Fethiye,Muğla :

We have witnessed very closely how a small group of individuals at first,then with perseverence and effort grew bigger in number worked tirelessly to end perhaps one of the biggest human abuse ,the Free the Oludeniz Dolphins group

Together,this amazing group have achieved the impossible; to free two dolphins that were intended for the entertainment industry and later with the help of the Born Free Foundation in UK , their rehabilition into the wild.

As such,Fethiye stood as a sweet memory of victory for the animals in our minds…

Until a week ago…

A week ago, we learned about an incredible torture practise that took place near Fethiye.

The victim is Mila ;

a stray dog that no one would notice if she was not badly injured in one of her front legs.

Mila was found in a terrible state by one of our friends ,Yasemin.As she was in the place for a vacation she could not stop to follow the whole rescue. Instead she found a quick solution where she could help Mila;

She took her to a veterinarian clinic in the same region and payed from advance all her expenses so that they can take care of the damaged leg and nurse Mila back to  health…

What followed the event is an incredible serie of malpractise and abuse;

the veterinarian in charge performed a surgery to amputate the damaged leg…

Accepting the full responsability of such an operation means you,as a medical professional are competent to perform such surgery without difficulty or lack of knowledge.

However this was not the case ;

Sadly Mila,after going through the amputation in the hands of the so-called veterinarian got infected.The stitches re-opened and her injury got infected to a point where it reached her whole system .

Mila could no longer bear the pain…

She was in the clinic,crying day after day ,asking help from the people around her-self,the people who supposedly were there to help her.

To deal with Mila’s cry for help they have found an incredible solution : they have sedated Mila to an extreme each day .
So much that Mila stopped eating alltogether and lost a good deal of her body mass.

This was not enough,the responsible of such malpractise needed to cover his traces. So,without even informing our friend of Mila’s fate, he decided to perform another surgery.

Taking advantage of her being far , he accomplished the task in silence.

Mila stayed in his hands,helplessly until our friend reached us asking for someone who can help in the region.

A rescue was immediately organized to save Mila and bring her to our clinic in Istanbul.Unfortunately this was not possible as the horrible malpractise had left Mila so weak that travelling that far would cause her demise.

A local and competent clinic was found and Mila,after months of torture at the hands of the butcher, was transferred there finally .

Mila has been tested and consulted in the clinic, the test results are incredible :

Mila is fighting with a widespread infection that has taken most of her power.
She is skin and bones.  As she was not able to eat because of her sedated state for so long , she had to be fed and nurtered intravenously, her stomach has reduced in size and each time she eats she vomits as the stomach can not deal with the normal amount of food she should be consuming in each meal.

Mila is now with us… We will fight for this horribly tortured baby until she can be nurtered back to the  health and until she finds a family that will heal her inner wounds.

Mila stands for everything that is wrong in animal wellfare in our country.By saving her and reaching her to her happy ending we believe we will be saving thousands more simultaneously just by setting an example.
