Save Valentina : Chained to Death on Valentine’s

There is a saying in Tibetan, ‘Tragedy should be utilized as a source of strength.’ No matter what sort of difficulties, how painful experience is, if we lose our hope, that’s our real disaster. ― Dalai Lama XIV

Millions around the world celebrated Valentine’s Day on 14 February. Love and understanding between humans are inflated in such occasions , words emphasizing the value of love and mutual respect are exchanged.

Valentine’s are also often the occasions to exchange gifts of all kinds ; puppies included.Unfortunately  the cost of such a gift is higher than expected ; not for the one who purchases them though ; for the soul that has to go through the incredible pain of living a life of torture in the hands of the less conscious.

Valentina is one of them.

We don’t know whether or not she had a name , we would assume she was not given one as the state in which she was kept is less likely to be the sign of what a loving family would do.

Valentina was brought in as a young pup , per turkish custom she was tied to a chain with her tight collar on and left to live there by her-self deprived of attention and care.
People responsible of her fate did not pay attention to her except throwing a few slices of bread each day so that she does not starve…

Days turned into weeks,weeks into months and years.Valentina’s collar was now too tight for her, so tight that it had begun cutting her neck in a horrible way ; she was growing up.

Her agony was a silent one , deep down she knew she would not be heard. Her wound was now life threatening , along with her infection and the mange that taken course in her system…

She was forgotten.

The people who did this to her then decided it would be for their own good if Valentina did not die in their garden.They surrendered her to a shelter with this incredible wound that they have caused on Valentine’s Day.

A gift of Valentine’s returned on Valentine’s ; a broken object to get rid off.

Maybe a rescuers hunch , maybe pure luck but the day Valentina was brought to the shelter we happened to be there , we just could not leave her suffering there anymore.

We pulled Valentina immediately to our clinic to give her the best treatment and care possible in the area.

Her wound ,as you can see is serious . She is in lots of pain physically and mentally.
However she did not give up.
Neither we will.

Valentina’s treatment will take one full month during which our doctors will work on her mange and infection,also to reduce
the size of her wound until it can be operated.

Please note that we are able to help these souls only thanks to the support of our amazing friends, we need to undo everything our kind has done to Valentina and make sure it never happens again.

Please help us give Valentina a decent Valentine’s gift this time, one that will
save her life and will secure her forever from the atrocities in this world.

Here is a video of Valentina taken on the first hour we pulled her to our clinic;

UPDATE 16.02.2013

Valentina will need to be operated tomorrow – 17.02.2013.
The problem with her wound is that it got so deep that it cut some layers of her neck muscles.
If we let her heal that way , the space formed by the cut will fill in with the connective tissue and Valentina will not be able to move her neck properly , lacking the organs (muscles) for it.

The operation is a MUST , please SEE what they have done to Valentina and help us help her if you can;

Please SHARE , thank you !

UPDATE 17.02.2013

Valentina has had her operation , it went very well. Here is a video of her waking up from anesthesia and getting some rest ;

UPDATE 19.02.2013

Valentina’s operation was a success !! She is on her way to a complete recovery and turned out to be one of the most affectionate dogs we have seen!!

Please check this video of her taken during one of her daily walks around the clinic  ;

This transformation was possible to thanks to you, our friends who did not leave us alone and showed Valentina that there are still people who care about her destiny!!!

Thank you!
