Saving Rosalie : Four Years of Neglect

It was late in the evening when a truck stopped at the front door of the shelter . Two well dressed men threw a shapeless shadow out of the truck in a rush. ‘’The shadow ‘’  did not move for a while , then very very slowly began to move towards the road in the darkness.

It was done. They had gotten rid of her. Now  it was  time to disappear before anyone could identify them.
Deep within they knew they had committed a horrible crime.

Alas, too late ! There appearead another man coming right from the front door , waving , calling them , screaming them to stop …

A shelter volunteer had caught them red handed.

Their explanation was simple and cruel ;

The factory was shutting down. They could no longer care for ‘’her ‘’ , the shapeless shadow that they needed get rid of. She was a dog , a dog that they kept in their factory yard for 4 years , tied to a kennel there at the corner of their yard , a guard dog as they call it.

When I first saw Rosalie , curled  upon her-self  in the corner of her cage , I could not believe my eyes.
What I was contemplating was no longer a dog in the sense we use it ;

She was a  naked skeleton of purple color with some fur here and there ;
the rabid smell of mange could be touched in the air around her , the disease had left itchy wounds almost everywhere in her body.

This was the ‘’care’’ the owners at the factory where she was kept gave her for four years.

Four years of pure neglect where her body finally began screaming ‘’ I give up ! ‘’ had ended when the factory moved elsewhere , the owners finally dumped her in this condition .

Today many people in animal rescue in Turkey sees no problem at all with this kind of adoption ; giving a dog to a factory so that they keep him/her in their yard as a guard dog…

Rosalie thinks , no…Rosalie screams it is WRONG.

Her wounds, her cachectic naked body , the  state of her soul , the scared eyes she is seeing the world through screams it is WRONG.

NO DOG DESERVES TO BE NEGLECTED THIS WAY.

We need your help because we MUST change Rosalie’s life ; we need to heal her body but more importantly ; we MUST show her there is another way of living .

A life of freedom and love , a life where she is protected and not owned to be neglected , a life where she is surrounded by care  and attention of her family.

Rosalie is now in our clinic ; her health is very fragile.We are performing a full check-up on her systems and dealing with her extreme mange.

Please let us show Rosalie that there are people who care …

People who would stand up for her and say ;

‘’NO ! ‘’ to the crime they have been committing for years.

    • Lee Ann Siemens I saw this and have once again been reduced to uncontrollable sobbing and praying for Rosalie to recover body and soul. The abuse that Rosalie has been put through is beyond words or comprehension, at least mine. This story makes me cringe and wonder how humans are capable of such horrific torture and behavior. To look into her eyes for four years of torment and then to try and discard her as if she were trash shames me, but for her it happened to save her life. The people who had to have witnessed this and rescued her had to have had an angel whispering in their ears to see what those demons were trying to do with her. I know that they looked into her eyes because when they heard her cries and when their bellowing did not silence her at first I am sure they beat her. I know after awhile the cries had to have ceased and out of fear and dispare she just gave up. Then as they picked her up, what once used to be a healthy and a happy dog that probably licked their face in joy and she wagged her tail from happiness now has turned into a limp and lifeless, hollow shell and yelps in pain from their years of torture. It is proof how evil thrives in this world and in some of those who refer to themselves as humans and dwell amongst us, some even our neighbors who could inflict such sickening abuse and neglect so much so that it makes me ashamed to even be put in the same category as human. It reflects ever so brightly now to be human does not make you humane. I am so very sorry Rosalie and all the other abused animals out their that you were not treated as kind as you deserved to be, for to be an animal is no longer a horrible word to be called. It has now been replace by the word man. All my Love, Hugs and Prayers. XOXO

  9. Lee Ann Siemens This poor, sweet, innocent baby, how much I hurt for you. It sickens me the lengths people will go to when it comes to cruelty. Some people are just pure evil and it breaks my heart and drains my soul at just the thought of what you have been through and what has to be going through your head all this time. Why? Help! It brings me peace to know that you are safe and will have a chance at happiness. And it brings me satisfaction that those evil people on this earth who bring about this horror and pain upon the helpless and innocent will someday be punished and know the pain that they have caused and will bow their heads and ask for mercy because unlike you and the many other innocent victims that have managed to survive what they have put you and others through, they will not be able to survive themselves and will pray for their own suffering to end.     • Lee Ann….I feel exactly like you! I am an animal lover. I, just, can’t understand how anyone could be, so, cruel, to another living being…..God’s creation! This poor little girl…..I cry for her & I am praying she will get completely well & someone wonderful & kind will give her the home she deserves with lots of love & spoiled like she’s never been before! Please, please give us in America a progress report! I will be praying for sweet Rosalie! Much, much love & prayers for you Dear Lady!

  18. Please advise me of her condition. I’m not working for the last two years, and I think I can get some help financially to donate to her cause. Come on and pull through. God is love and this dog NEEDS ALL OF THE LOVE SHE CAN GET.

  21. In all my life I HAVE NEVER seen anything so horrific and inhumane, this socks me to my core and is totally soul destroying. Lock this bastard up in a room for four years and see how they like it, torture would be too good for these absolute , discusting, evil idiots. Mans best friend is that for a reason, they help the police with crimes, they sniff our cancer, they help the blind and they are the most loyal animals out there, they never leave your side. To think of the utter torment and suffering this poor Rosalie has been inflicted with makes me so so sad. The condition is unbearable to look at :( Karma and the law better f*ck these idiots up and quick, the air we breathe and the earth we walk on is not deserved for evil idiots like this. ROT IN HELL!!!!

  22. WE NEED TO PRAY FOR ROSALIE, that the infliction hasnt been too much and that she can be helped and find love in her heart again…I doubt it though, would we find love in our hearts if we had been treated like this ?!

OMG.. couldn’t believe what I was looking at… this poor doggie., how very cruel and disgusting that this happened for so long and no-one even noticed and if they did they did absolutely nothing to help her… I am appalled by this and breaks my heart too to see her in such a horrific situation, Poor, poor girl… I truly hope Rosalie makes it okay., thank you for rescuing her… prayers for Rosalie…. still think there should be law on who has dogs so that the dogs are protected by this law and not the owners… this is so cruel as to what happened to Rosalie and needs to be fixed and the owners brought to justice for this horrific crime upon Rosalie…. love you Rosalie…3 please make it through girl… Ros and Daphne…xx

  27. This is another heartbreaking and horrific case of animal abuse and neglect. When will it f/n end???!!! What is wrong with people, what is missing in someone that enables them to do this??? I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW SOMEONE CAN DO THIS TO ANOTHER LIVING CREATURE!

  29. Please keep us posted about Rosalie. The location of your rescue got my attention as it is in Turkey. Us “seasoned” activists and rescuers are aware that this country is ridden with horrific atrocities committed against animals. I can’t even repeat what I have witnessed (only online, thank god). However I can’t stress enough how happy I am to know that there is at least one group of angels there on the case. Rosalie has been in my prayers. Please create awareness on Facebook, there are a lot of Americans that will help with donations. We are all so grateful you are there! THANK YOU!

  30. this has nothing to do with education either…you DO NOT HAVE TO BE EDUCATED to see and know that this is CLEAR AND BLATANT ABUSE!!!!!!!!!!! The pieces of shit that dumped this dog knew exactly what they were doing and the condition this sweet girl was in….THEY SUCK..PEOPLE SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY need to be chained to a fence and left to die..or better yet wiped off the face of this earth!!!

  33. This abuse at its worst!! I can’t help but cry every time I look at her little face. I want to take her in my arms and hold her close and whisper softly to her that everything is going to be okay. I am going to donate to her care but what I want to know is, will she be getting out of Turkey when she is well. I don’t want to see her end up with anyone who is’nt going to love and cherish her forever. Do we know what breed she is? It is so hard to tell. I am heartbroken for this girl.

  38. What happened to Rosalie is beyong belief!!! I am so disgusted, words can not describe it!!! How on earth can people like that do this to an inocent animal??? They need to get punished for their sickness, for their mental illness, for their lust to torture, for having NO sympathy whatsoever for other BEINGS with the same feelings like human s have ( no, I correct myself, with MORE feelings than humans have!!!!!).There needs to be a law for those, a very HARD law, we do NOT want things like that happen over and over again, it needs to STOP!!!!   39. I saw this post on facebook, and I posted there that I really really want to adopt this dog so I can give her a brand new life full of love, attention, affection, spoiling, and pampering. Please let me adopt her so she can learn what it is like to be in a loving home and part of dog oriented family. You can check on her and do home visits and whatever else you want, I will do it for her. I am disabled so I am at home most of the time and we also have a 6 foot privacy fence in the back for my furbabies to run around. I love dogs so much and I can help this baby so much. I have adopted dogs like this before and it is amazing how time, patience and lots of love and lots of spoiling, slowly change them into happy and confident babies.   41. I find it deplorable that there is NOT a mention of WHAT FACTORY? What CITY? What STATE? Why are the faces of the men who did this NOT ON DISPLAY? Why is the “FACTORY” not on BLAST and PLASTER? This is WHY so many people across the U.S. GET AWAY WITH WHAT THEY DO….they never get punished…they never get made public.

  48. WE ARE ALL SHOCKED AND HORRIFIED THAT “ANYONE” CAN DO THIS TO A LIVING, BREATHING CREATURE OF GOD. WE ALL WANT THIS EVIL MONSTER TO SUFFER FOR ALL ETERNITY.   49. every horrific case I see, I donate something, but there are pictures of abuse every day…I don’t have money now but will see what I have toward the end of the month. I too pray for her recovery and those assholes who tried to abandon her need to be arrested and charged with animal cruelty. Rosalie, your life can only imprrove from now on. There is an entire population of animal advocates pulling for you!!!

  56. this update says the same thing…it would be nice to see new pictures if shes still alive and something is being done..and do the vets think she will make it?….since we are half way across the world from turkey..if their are updates it shouldnt be the same thing being said..new pics would help…..

  57. Os que foram servidos por ela durante estes 4 anos, têm que ser denunciados, seus nomes publicados para que todos saibam e os conheçam para que nunca mais tenham um animal aos seus cuidados. Nada e ninguém merece um tratamento deste, aliás, quem fez isto com Rosalie, merece, sim, ser tratado do mesmo jeito.

  58. Nice to see so many animal lovers on here. I assume you’re al vegan, too, kudos. Animals like and other than Rosalie are counting on us to tell the world that feeling seeing living beings are not ours to use – not for food, not for entertainment, not for clothing. Animals are no different no matter the species so it’s time we treated a dog as a cat as a human as a pig as a cow as a fish….

  67. I donated to this worthy cause of saving Rosalie from the years of inexcusable abuse and neglect that she suffered! How horrible these cowards are to have neglected Rosalie to such an extent that she was reduced to this state. My love and prayers go out to this gentle, innocent dog so that she will completely recover and finally receive the love and care that she is so deserving of! Guard dogs are so often the victims of terrible cruelty. Frequently, even their most basic needs such as food, water, adequate shelter, and veterinary care are often neglected. And they they live in complete isolation of any companionship with humans or with other dogs. Since dogs are such social animals, to deprive them of this is, in itself, cruel.
