He’art of Rescue is an independent initiative started for animals in critical conditions. Actually it started itself at the end of 2011 when we repeatedly encountered stray animals in horrible conditions. The need for building a page and a blog to reach people who could be supportive took us to a point where we were happy to see we were not all alone but helped by few but generous and passionate friends worldwide.
Today we are a registered charity in Turkey , having our base in one of the most crowded metropoles of Europe, Istanbul.
We are happy to have reached as many animals as we could, and we plan to do more using our potential.
There are more we saved, or lost…But have to spare more space for that remarkable rescue: Teddy, because it was an amazing example of what a small group of dedicated individuals could achieve all together:
Teddy was found in miserable condition in Turkey.He had to be amputatetd on one of the front legs in order to survive. Anyone who is involved with animal rescue knows how it is for the strays in Turkey. The mix breeds are usually the last ones to be adopted,pass a tripod…Teddy was treated and sent to Canada.He now has the most amazing life a dog can have.
As you can notice, we choose to make handicapped, congenitally sick… etc. animals our priortiy. That is mostly because the country we are located in is a pretty unlucky one for them. To elaborate: Turkey has a long long way to go to reach an acknowledgement that animals are “beings” too. Having records of thousands of healthy pets dumped per year, we are pretty sure animals like ours do not stand an easy chance of being adopted. But we choose to try giving them more chances to live, as in Ata and Dreamy’s cases:
Ata’s story;

or as in the terminally ill pups from a shelter in horrible condition in Turkey;
For the very same reasons mentioned above our animals couldn’t find much adoptants here but did abroad, so when someone from other countries want to adopt our animals and suit our adoption rules, we do whatever we can to make it happen.
Having such cases as our priortiy, we have decided to focus more on establishing platforms where international collaborations can grow.

Thank you for working with He’Art of Rescue-global. Maybe there is a future when animals (homeless pets) will have priority in this world. Thank you for paving the way locally so they can share with the U.S.
I would love to help out and foster what ever I can but I live in USA not sure how that works. I donate every month to ASPCA. and my son does as well. Things like this hurt my heart so much for these helpless animals . I hope the lord sends Karma to all who abuse and neglect animals. larkinlauri@yahoo.com
